Year 2000+ Toyota 1/4 Mile Times
Toyota's new generation of Sport Compacts
Built around the "ZZ" engine family, Toyota's 2000+ Celica and MR2-S, 2003+ Matrix/Vibe and 1998+ Corolla are fun, quick, underrated Sport Compacts. There's a lot of development yet to be done on them, so watch these times drop fast!

2000+ Toyota Celica GTS
The Celica GTS, equipped with the 2ZZ-GE 180hp 1.8L engine, is the king of the hill in stock form.
2000+ Toyota Celica GT
Underrated from the factory, the 140hp Celica GT holds its own with a torque curve you could shoot pool on and a curb weight of about 2500lbs.
2000+ Toyota MR2-S
The true sports car of the group, the MR2 Spyder makes the most of its 138hp. Rear wheel drive, 2200lbs curb weight, and an incredibly responsive chassis make for an exciting ride. Apparently, it even does pretty well at the dragstrip.
2003+ Toyota Matrix XRS
Borrowing the Celica GTS's hot engine, the Matrix XRS and Vibe GT move faster than a funky hatch/crossover/whatever should.
2003+ Toyota Matrix XR
With a 130hp version of the 1ZZ-FE found in the Celica GT, the Matrix XR and base Vibe aren't lightning fast in stock form. A GM/TRD supercharger and some pending turbo kits aim to change that.
1998+ Toyota Corolla
Often forgotten, the 2003+ Corolla packs the same 130hp VVTi engine as the Matrix XR but less weight. The 98-02 packs a tad less power but has similar potential. Rumor has it the GM/TRD supercharger will fit- we'll have to wait and see.
